Kazakhstan plans to export gas via single national operator, deputy oil and gas minister Lyazzat Kiinov has said. He explained that for instance Tengizchevroil or Chinese companies will not export but will give gas to the national operator at wholesale price. The operators first priority task will be to satisfy the countrys internal needs and then export the remaining volume of gas. The main aim is to have a cushion that in case of a sharp rise in gas price it does not affect the population, the deputy minister has explained. Kiinov also revealed that the draft law on creation of a single gas purchase operator will be submitted to the government this year.
