Kazakhstan to create energy consumers register.

By bne IntelliNews June 19, 2012
Kazakhstan intends to create a national energy register in 2013 under the provisions of Kazakhstan's new law on energy saving and energy efficiency. The register will include individual entrepreneurs and legal entities who consume over 1,500 tonnes of fuel per year, as well as state departments and entities of quasi-public sector. The register will define the main energy consumers of the country who will be required to undergo a mandatory energy audit. The results of the audit will be applied to develop action plans to reduce energy consumption in the country.
