Kazakhstan receives no request regarding Eni corruption scandal.

Italian authorities did not ask the Kazakh law enforcement agencies for help in conducting investigations into a corruption scandal around Eni, Murat Zhumanbay, the press secretary of the Kazakh Agency for Fighting Economic and Corruption Crimes has said. The Italian company is suspected for giving large sums of bribes during signing of contracts on the development of Kashagan oil and gas field, according to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. At the same time, Zhumanbay declared that the agency will certainly check all the indicated facts if a request is received. Earlier, the Oil and Gas Ministry announced that this corruption scandal with Eni will not affect the implementation of the project on the development of the major Kashagan oil and gas field in Kazakhstan.
