Kazakhstan harvests 13.9mn tones of grain as of Oct 1.

Kazakhstan harvested 13.9mn tones of grain as of Oct 1, the Agriculture Ministry has reported. The country has enough grain for domestic consumption taking into account reserves left from the last year. Export potential is expected at 7-8mn tones in 2010-2011 marketing year. Kazakhstan will export grain to Russia, China, Middle East and neighbouring Central Asian states. Last year, the country harvested 20mn tones of grain.
