Kazakhstan exports record 12.7mn tonnes of grain and flour.

Kazakhstan exported a record 12.7mn tonnes of grain and flour in grain equivalent in 2011-12 marketing year, the Ministry of Agriculture has informed. According to data from the State Stat Agency and Kazakhstan Temir Zoly (national railway company), Kazakhstan exported 8.9mn tonnes of wheat and 2.6mn tonnes of flour. The average amount of shipments exceeded 1mn tonnes per 1 month. Kazakhstan harvested record nearly 30mn tonnes of grain in 2011. This year harvest will be much lower due to drought. The Agriculture Ministry expects to harvest 12.8mn tonnes of grain this year.
