Kazakhstan & Russia agree to explore Caspian Sea gas field.

Kazakhstan and Russia signed the agreement to jointly work on exploration of cross-border gas and condensate Imashevskoye field in the Caspian Sea. The document was signed by Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev and Russian Natural Resources Minister Yuri Trutnev during a Kazakh-Russian cooperation forum in the eastern Kazakh city of Oskemen. The spokeswoman stated that the joint venture would be governed on a parity basis and, after reassessing field's resources, would prepare it for further development. Details of the agreement remains unknown.
