Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agree to extend gas contract.

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed to extend gas supply agreement until September. Under the deal, Kyrgyzstan pays USD 224 per 1,000 m3 of gas. The volume of the supplies until September is to reach 75mncm. As we reported, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan reached an agreement over gas supplies in October 2011, under which Kazakhstan was to deliver 300mncm from October 2011 to April 2012 at the price of USD 224 per 1,000 m3. The deal allows Kyrgyzstan to diversify its imports while Kazakhstan gets additional tool to influence its neighbor.
