IT firm Asseco Poland counts on deal with Social Security Board ZUS by Oct 10.

CEE's biggest IT group Asseco Poland counts on signing new agreement with the Social Security Board (ZUS) by Oct 10, 2010, i.e. when the former contract expires, the company's spokeswoman Katarzyna Drewnowska told news agency ISB. Earlier, the media announced that ZUS had already decided to prolong the agreement. The contract - signed with Prokom Software, which was took over by Asseco Poland later - terminates on Oct 10, 2010. The contract's value, including the equipment purchasing, amounted to PLN 3bn within 13 years. On Saturday, the Gazeta Wyborcza daily announced that ZUS decided to prolong the agreement for next three years without calling a new tender. The board's internal audit showed that changing of the system's provider was impossible, as it could damage ZUS operations. ZUS had to conduct the external audit, but it was impossible as closing the tender was blocked by protests. ISB
