IPEC Group plans EUR 100mn European-Chinese centre in Slovakia.

Slovak IPEC Group, which provides design and project management of industrial construction, expects to invest over EUR 100mn in the development of a European Chinese commercial and cultural centre in Senec, western Slovakia, Webnoviny.sk reported. IPEC will provide 50% of the funding, while Chinese companies will finance the remaining part of the investment. The centre will span over an area of 17ha, with a potential for further expansion to 30ha, and will be able to host at least 200 firms. The first Chinese companies are expected to start operations in the centre in early 2014. According to IPEC, Chinese investors are interested in setting up businesses in the sectors glass production, wood industry, agriculture and tourism. The vision of the European Chinese commercial and cultural centre will be to establish Chinese companies as high-quality producers. It will serve as a trading base for Chinese companies for Europe.
