Industry Minister: Turkey to attract USD 12.5bn FDI this year.

Industry Minister Nihat Ergun announced that Turkey has attracted USD 105bn of FDI in the last eight years, USD 11.5bn of FDI within this year; and total FDI inflows to Turkey is expected to amount to USD 12.5bn at the end of this year. Ergun also asserted that FDI inflows in 2012 will not be lower than the amount of FDI inflows recorded in 2011. Ergun also reiterated that GDP growth is expected to stand about at 8% this year and Turkey will keep its growth tendency next year. Please note that the cumulative FDI inflows reached USD 11.5bn in Jan-Oct, according to the latest data from the Central Bank, and Chairman of the International Investors Association (YASED), Izzet Karaca, said in October that the country might attract USD 12bn of FDI this year.
