Hungary's wheat harvest is expected to reach 4mn tonnes in 2011, which is a 6.4% increase on the year, MTI news agency quoted state secretary of the rural development ministry, Gyorgy Czervan, as saying at a news conference. Around 76% of the wheat crop has already been harvested, Czervan explained, noting the more benevolent weather conditions this year. This year's wheat is of better quality compared to that from 2010, he added. The barley harvest has already been collected with its amount being 669,000 tonnes.
