Hungary's consumer confidence strengthens in March-April - Nielsen.

Consumer confidence in Hungary improved in March-April from September-October with the index growing by 3pts to 61pts during the period on the back of better employment and financial situation outlook, according to the bi-annual survey of market research company Nielsen. The share of respondents with a positive assessment of their financial situation and the prospects for employment growth in the country for the next twelve months rose respectively to around 20% and 9% respectively. These levels, however, remain quite low, indicating the depth of the economic recession. On the other hand, the share of people, planning large purchases, dropped by 3pps to 19% in March-April.
