Hungary's average monthly gross wage rose by 6.9% y/y to HUF 216,568 (EUR 727.5) in February 2012, the statistics office said. The wage growth accelerated from the 4.3% y/y increase registered a month earlier. The average earnings in the public sector rose by 2.1% y/y to HUF 197,413, while employees in the business sector earned 8.9% more compared to February 2011, or HUF 225,484. Hungary's average net wage advanced 3.7% y/y to HUF 140,068 in February 2012. In terms of nominal value, the best paid sectors continued to be financial and insurance activities (HUF 440,700), information and communication (HUF 399,700) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (HUF 338,700). The lowest average earnings were registered in the accommodation and food services sector (HUF 140,200) as well as human health and social work activities (HUF 156,100). |
