Greek Leaf Tobacco opens EUR 9.5mn plant in Bulgaria.

Greek Leaf Tobacco opened a EUR 9.5mn tobacco processing plant in Bulgarias southern town of Sandanski on January 29, 2011, inews.bg reported. The new factory will employ 600 people and will have a capacity of four to six tonnes an hour. This is the second plant of the Greek tobacco company in Bulgaria. Leaf Tobacco opened its first factory, also in Sandanski, in 1996, investing some EUR 4.5mn. The company is present in 12 countries and has 17 subsidiaries.
