Greek Emporiki Bank raises capital of Albanian unit by 6.5%.

Greeces Emporiki Bank said it has injected EUR 2.5mn in its fully-owned unit, Emporiki Bank Albania, raising its equity capital to EUR 41.1mn. Following the hike, the Greek banks 100% stake in the Albanian subsidiary is divided into 50,570 shares of nominal value EUR 812 each, the parent said in a statement on its website. Emporiki Bank of Greece is one of the four Greek commercial banks active on the Albanian market. Emporiki Albania reported ALL 32.5bn worth of assets at end-2011, down by 4.9% on the year. It operates 22 branches and has 254 employees in Albania, data from the Albanian Association of Banks showed.
