Grain yield in Ukraine exceeds the previous year level.

To date, yield indices of barley and wheat in Ukraine exceed the previous year indices, declared Viktor Slauta, the Vice Prime Minister on Agrarian Policy Issues of Ukraine. According to Slauta, the yield indices reached the high-yield level of the last year, and even exceed the level by 1.5 c/ha. Ukrainian agrarians started the harvesting campaign of early grains, especially barley and wheat. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, as of June 21, agrarians harvested 237 thsd tonnes of grains throughout the areas of nearly 89 thsd ha from the planned 12.05 mln ha. At the same time, the average yield of early grains totaled 26.6 c/ha.
