Alexei Miller, CEO at gas monopoly Gazprom, visits Ukraine for talks with Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yurii Boiko on modification to the conditions of the natural gas supply contract. Boiko expects that Ukraine and Russia will find compromise on revision of the contract for supply of natural gas to Ukraine and arrange a lower price for it before September. On a separate matter, the government intends to channel USD 300mn for projects on the increase of gas production. The funds, according to Boiko, will go to construction of new compressor stations and reconstruction of the operating objects. The minister added that the designated measures would allow increasing annual production of Ukrgazvydobuvannia, daughter company of Naftohaz Ukrainy and the main gas producer. According to Ukrgazvydobuvannia press service, in 2010, it is planned to construct 19 new and reconstruct six operating boosting compressor stations. The investment volume for these measures will make up about UAH 2bn.
