Gas transit through Kazakhstan goes up in January.

Gas transit via the Kazakh territory increased to 6.563bcm in January from 5.681bcm in the same period of previous year, the State Stat Agency has informed. In December 2011, gas transit amounted to 6.41bcm. Last year, gas transit across Kazakhstan made up 78.41bcm. Kazakhstan is a transit country for Uzbek and Turkmen gas being transported to China and Russia.
