Foreign tourist visits in Montenegro up 11.3% y/y in Oct 2012.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Montenegro, representing some 83.2% of all tourists in the country, increased by 11.3% y/y to 31,055 in October, the statistics office reported. Domestic tourist number, however, dropped by 14.2% y/y to 6,279 in October after declining by 4.5% y/y in the previous month. The total number of tourists that visited the country in October reached 37,334, up by 6% y/y. The number of foreign tourist overnight stays increased by 9.4% y/y to 116,408 in October while the overnight stays of domestic tourists went down by 19.9% y/y to 25,713. The total number of overnight stays rose by 2.6% y/y to 142,121 in October. In Jan-Oct, total tourist arrivals went up by 4.9% y/y, as the cumulative foreign tourist number rose by 5.3% y/y. The number of foreign tourist overnight stays went up by 4.1% y/y in the first ten months of 2012.
