Italian car maker Fiat will expand the production portfolio of its Serbian plant with the addition of a minivan, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne said according to Blic daily. The minivans will be exported to Europe and the U.S., Marchionne added. The plant made 30,000 cars in September, of which 8,000 were exported mainly to northern Africa, eastern Europe and the CEFTA countries, said Giovanni De Filippis the managing board chairman of the joint venture between Fiat and the government, Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS). According to earlier media reports, FAS has exported some 2,500 cars in January-August, while the full-year sales abroad are expected to reach 4,500 in 2010.
