EUR 503mn to be invested in upgrading Serbia's power grid.

Some EUR 503mn will be spent on upgrading Serbia's power distribution grid, Tanjug news agency reported, citing Slobodan Petrovic, president of the energy association with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The modernization of the grid will result in reducing transportation losses, Petrovic added. The official reminded that a tender for the procurement of equipment for distance meter-reading, financed by the EBRD, is under way and the bidders should be known soon. According to Petrovic, the funds allocated for this project stand at some EUR 80mn.
