EU Commissioner-designate for Enlargement Stefan Fule voiced his commitment to the acceleration of EU integrations of Western Balkans. Fule said the ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia will be among his priorities, adding that he expected ratification of the SAA to start this summer. We recall that the EU foreign ministers unblocked interim trade deal (part of the SAA) with Serbia last month. Both interim trade deal and the SAA were inked in mid-2008, but remained frozen, as the Netherlands opposed to the implementation of the agreements due to Serbias failure to arrest former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic sought by the Hague-based war crimes court. |
