EU Commissioner supports political dialogue in Albania.

By bne IntelliNews November 17, 2010
The European Unions Enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fuele, has welcomed the initiatives for dialogue aimed at finding a solution out of the political deadlock in Albania, Fueles spokesperson Angela Filote was quoted as saying by SETimes. There is a good possibility for the ruling party and the opposition to overcome their differences, after opposition leader Edi Rama expressed readiness last week to retreat from his persistent request for ballots recount. The socialists requested parliamentary probe into the latest general election results. Ruling Democratic Party has not made a decision on the proposal yet. PM Sali Berisha said the oppositions request will be discussed once it is presented in a written form. We remind that the lack of political will to solve the stalemate since June 2009 resulted in a negative assessment of Albanias readiness to get EU candidate country status.
