The market capitalisation of equities traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) increased by 4.78% m/m to MKD 130.04bn (EUR 2.11bn) at end-May, reversing a 8.17% m/m drop at end-April, according to data published by MSE. The market capitalisation of debt instruments increased by 0.61% m/m to MKD 11.64bn at the end of last month. The equity indices MBI10 and MBID both rose in May, by 5.55% and 3.77% respectively. The MSE's turnover decreased by 86.72% m/m to MKD 275.1mn in May. The turnover of block transactions narrowed by 98.88% m/m to MKD 18mn last month. The turnover of the classical trading shrank by 45.42% m/m to MKD 257.2mn in May. Overall, the number of transactions dropped by 3.92% m/m to 2,182 last month. In May, foreign investors participated in 34.83% of the total turnover as buyers and in 26.44% of the total turnover as sellers. |
