Electricity prices increase for Slovenian households, companies in Q1

Average electricity prices for households in Slovenia increased by 1% q/q in Q1, the Statistical Office announced on June 5. Meanwhile, electricity prices without value added tax for industry showed a 5% increase over the fourth quarter of 2017.

Prices of electricity have contributed to Slovenian inflation recently. CPI in the country has been increasing slightly in annual terms every month this year.

According to the latest statistical office data, the average electricity price for households in the first quarter was €0.15 per /kWh. Meanwhile, the average electricity price without value added tax for industry in the quarter was €0.08 per /kWh.

In the first quarter of 2018, prices of natural gas in Slovenia went up.

The average natural gas price for households in the first quarter was €0.05 per/kWh, which is a 4% increase over the fourth quarter of 2017. The average natural gas price without value added tax for industry in the first quarter was €0.03 per/kWh, which is a 3% increase over the fourth quarter of 2017, statistical office said.
