EIB proposes EUR 20mn for Czech-Polish border railway electrification.

The EIB is proposing to extend up to CZK 515mn (EUR 20mn) financing for the electrification of the railway on the Czech-Polish border. The project consists of the rehabilitation and electrification of the 23.76km-long, single track, railway line Letohrad - Lichkov - State border (Poland) on the TEN-T line Usti n.Orl. - Wroclaw (Poland) in the north-eastern part of Pardubicky kraj Region. The project also includes the modernisation of the railway's telecommunication and signaling equipment. The total costs of the project amount to CZK 1.7bn. The proposed financing is currently under appraisal.
