Ship builder BLRT Grupp, Saaremaa Shipping Company (SLK) and Swedbank signed a letter of intent to build a fourth large ferry for the ferries company. The letter of intent included option for additional two ferries with ice-breaking capabilities. Vjatseslav Leedo, board chairman of SLK indicated that current 3 ferries cannot meet the demand for transportation between the biggest Estonias islands. The new ferry will have carrying capacity of 160 cars and 400-600 passengers. Price negotiations will follow, as well as preparation of documentations, and approvals of the supervisory boards of SLK and Swedbank. |
