The European Commission has adopted the priorities of the 2011 draft budget. Out of a total of EUR 142.6bn, some EUR 64.4bn are geared towards economic recovery actions (+3.4% on 2010). Furthermore, the funds backing the flagship initiatives of the EU 2020 strategy (for growth) represent some 57.9bn (some 40% of the budget), the Commission has announced. Poland is to receive a total of EUR 10.2bn (these recourses have been envisages in the 2007-2013 financial scheme, they are not new funds), of which EUR 6.6bn are structural funds and EUR 3.3bn cohesion funds of above-regional character. tom
