EBRD mulls extending EUR 450mn for projects in Macedonia.

Macedonia is expected to be awarded around EUR 450mn from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a package of projects in the field of road infrastructure, railway and energy, the finance ministry reported after minister Zoran Stavreskis meeting with EBRD representatives in Zagreb. Some of the projects include the construction of eastern railway section of Corridor 8, the upgrade of motorway stretches along Corridor 10, regional road network and the project for construction of a gas pipeline infrastructure. The ministry also reported that the EBRD extended EUR 10mn to Ohridska Banka, which will disburse it among small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The EBRD has so far invested more over EUR 510mn in the country.
