The EBRD invested more than EUR 125mn in 12 projects in Bosnia in 2012, the head of the Banks local office, Libor Krkoska, was quoted as saying by news service Capital.ba. The funding went to ten private and two public sector projects. The largest project financed last year was the construction of the Doboj-Banja Luka motorway section, which received a first tranche of EUR 75mn, Krkoska said. A second tranche of the same size should be disbursed in 2013. Last year the EBRD clients signed contracts worth EUR 400mn for existing projects financed by the Bank. A record of EUR 130mn was disbursed, which is double the amount from 2011, Krkoska added. According to him, the international lender will raise its cooperation with the Bosnian private sector this year and focus on investment in energy efficiency and environment safety, raising the competitiveness of domestic firms and supporting export-oriented projects and companies.
