Deutsche Telekom is interested in acquiring a stake its local peer Telekom Srbija, German daily Bild said quoting an official from the German company. The source said that Telekom Srbija fits with the takeover strategy of the German company, which is already operating in southeastern Europe and is keen to expand its operations in the region. We note that the government decided last week to auction a stake in Telekom Srbija. The state will most likely put up for sale 40% stake of the telecom in September. The government controls 80% of Telekom Srbija, while the remainder is held by Greece s OTE, 30% of which is owned by Deutsche Telekom.
