Czech July car sales up 6.4%.

New passenger cars sales in the Czech Republic increased by 6.4% to 12,118 units in July 2011, according to data from the Car Importers Association. Skoda kept its leading position with sales of 3,750 cars, up 36.5% y/y. Second ranked Volkswagen selling 1,158 cars, up 21% y/y, followed by Ford with 925 sold cars, down 7.5%. Sales of light commercial vehicles reached 855 units in July, compared to 706 sold in the same month last year. A total 100,402 new passenger cars were sold in the country in the first seven months of 2011, a 0.01% decline from a year earlier. Sales of light commercial vehicles in the seven-month period advanced 3.4% to 6,826 units.
