The Czech defence ministry will in the next few weeks choose a consultant to advise it on the sale of the Military Repairs Enterprise in the western town of Sternberk, the ministrys general secretary Jan Vylita told ekonom.cz server. The company, which employs 370 people and also produces parts for diggers and other construction machinery, will be put up for sale next year. It was merged with a military repairs factory in Novy Jicin last year. Some of the activities of Sternberk factory will be moved to Novy Jicin, the companys director Adolf Vermirovsky said. The factory in Novy Jicin employs 700 people and now assembles Pandur armored personnel carriers for Austrian firm Steyr. |
