Croatias foreign tourist arrivals up 1.5% y/y in April stats office.

The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia increased by an annual 1.5% in April after inching up by 24% on the year in March, preliminary data from the statistics office showed. The office did not give a number for the tourist arrivals in a statement on its website. The foreign tourists accounted for 80.9% of all tourists in April. The number of overnights foreign tourists spent in Croatia in April stepped down by 0.9% on the year. German tourists accounted for 23.1% of all overnights in the month, followed by Slovenian tourists with a 19.3% share and tourists from Austria with a 12% share. The total number of tourists in April inched up by 0.3% on the year, while the total number of their overnights dropped by an annual 1.5%. In January-April, the overall tourist numbers in Croatia rose by a yearly 2.8%, while the total number of overnights jumped 3.5%.
