Croatian insurance market shrinks 1.2% y/y in Jan-Nov.

Croatia's insurance companies reported a combined gross written premium of HRK 8.2bn (EUR 1.1bn) in Jan-Nov, down by an annual 1.2%, the countrys financial regulator said on its website. The life insurance segment rose 1% on the year to HRK 2.16bn, while the non-life insurance premiums fell 2% on the year to HRK 6.05bn. Croatia Osiguranje remained a market leader with premium income of HRK 2.52bn in Jan-Nov, or a market share of 30.8%. In non-life insurance segment, Croatia Osiguranje is a leader with a 36.5% share at end-November. It was followed by Euroherc Osiguranje with a 14.1% share. In the life insurance segment, market leaders are Allianz Zagreb (a 17.2%share) and Croatia Osiguranje again (14.7%).
