Croatia sells EUR 170.1mn in T-bills, yields on kuna-denominated ones rise.

Croatia's finance ministry said it sold EUR 170.1mn worth of Treasury bills at its August 28 auction. A total of HRK 844mn (EUR 112.8mn) of the sold securities were denominated in kuna, while the remaining EUR 57.3mn were denominated in euro, the ministry said in a statement. The planned amount of the kuna-denominated T-bills stood at HRK 700mn, while that of the euro-denominated T-bills was EUR 70mn. The ministry sold HRK 60mn worth of three-month kuna-denominated T-bills after receiving bids for HRK 160mn. It also sold HRK 283mn of six-month T-bills after receiving bids for HRK 313mn and placed HRK 501mn of one-year T-bills after receiving bids for HRK 588mn. The yields on the three-month T-bills stood at 2.33% (increasing from previous auctions 2.3%), on the six-month T-bills at 3.5% (going up from previous 3.1%) and on the one-year T-bills at 3.6% (inching up from previous auction 3.5%). The ministry also sold a three-month issue of euro-denominated T-bills worth EUR 37mn, yielding 2.1% (unchanged from the previous 2.1%), and a EUR 20.3mn issue of one-year euro-denominated T-bills issue, yielding 2.5% (unchanged from previous 2.5%).
