Croatia's insurance market contracts by 2.2% y/y in Jan-Jul.

The aggregate premium income of Croatia's insurance companies declined by 2.2% y/y to HRK 5.69bn in January-July, the financial regulator reported. The life insurance segment declined by 3% y/y to HRK 1.33bn, while the non-life insurance premium revenues narrowed by 1.9% y/y to HRK 4.35bn. Croatia Osiguranje remained the market leader with a premium income of HRK 1.92bn in the period. It held the leading position in both the non-life insurance segment (39.8%) and in the life insurance segment (14.5%), or an overall share of 33.8%. Next ranked Allianz with a market share of 11.1% and Euroherc with 10.2% in terms of premium income.
