Croatia's foreign tourist arrivals down 6.3 % y/y in February.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Croatia in February inched down by 6.3% on the year to 60,329, the statistics office said. The number of domestic tourists stepped down by an annual 15.4% to 56,996 in February, and thus the total number of tourists for the month dropped by 10.9% on the year to 117,325, the office said in a statement. The total number of overnights tourists spent in Croatia in February declined by a yearly 3.5% to 284,543. Foreign tourists overnights dropped by an annual 1.6% to 141,759 in February, while overnights of domestic tourists went down by 5.3% on the year to 142,784. The highest number of overnights was spent by visitors from Slovenia (14.9%), Italy (11%) and Austria (10.7%). In aggregate terms, the number of tourist arrivals dropped by 1.3% on the year to 237,090 in January-February, while the total number of overnights for the period rose by 4.4% to 595,005. The number of foreign tourists to Croatia climbed by 3.3% on the year to 117,633 in January-February, while the number of domestic tourists dropped by 5.4% on the year to 119,459. The number of overnights foreign tourists spent in the country went up by 5.3% to 283,448 in January-February, while the domestic tourists overnights increased by 3.6% to 311,577.
