Croatia's 3.Maj shipyard to build USD 130mn ships for Swedish Wisby Tankers.

Shipbuilder 3.Maj has signed a contract with Swedish company Wisby Tankers for the delivery of four ships, news agency HINA reported. The total amount of the contract is USD 130mn. The ships, that will be used for transport of asphalt, will have a capacity of 15,000 tonnes. The Shipyard has already started building the first ship, which has to be delivered in end-April 2012. The current order have secured the work at the plant for 2012 so the shipyard is currently looking to agree contracts for 2013 and to complete the privatisation as soon as possible, CEO Edi Kucan said. The shipbuilder's consolidated loss dropped by 56.9% y/y to HRK 195.8mn (EUR 26.9mn) in 2010.
