Croatia PPI up by 8% y/y in Feb.

Croatia's producer price index rose by 8% y/y in February after a 6.5% y/y rise in January, the statistics office reported. The acceleration of the PPI inflation in February was fuelled by higher prices in manufacturing (8.1%), mining (17.9%) and electricity, gas steam and air conditioning supply (2.5%). According to the main industrial groups? breakdown, energy registered the highest increase of 17.7% y/y, followed by intermediate goods (9.3%), non-durable consumer goods (3.8%) and durable consumer goods (2.6%). Deflation was observed only in capital goods, whose prices fell by 0.5%. In monthly terms, industrial producer prices increased by 1.5% m/m in February after inching up by 0.7% in January.
