The governor of the Indian central bank has indicated that the central bank is expected to increase its interest rate this month when its meets to finalize its monetary policy. As reported by Global Banking News, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Duvvuri Subbarao, stated that many countries are still facing deflation and India is experiencing increasing inflation. The country's inflation was recorded at 8.43% in December, and most analysts estimated that the bank is expected to increase its short-term interest rate by 25 basis points.
