The Romanian unit of healthcare software and services provider Cegedim has acquired local pharmaceutical software provider Pharmec from the Tudorache family, Ziarul Financiar daily reported. No official information about the value of the deal was disclosed but the daily estimated it at EUR 1-1.5mn. Pharmec was separated from the IT solutions provider Pluriva owned by the Tudorache family last December and will continue operating as an independent entity, Cegedim informed. Pharmec Healthcare Sofware has a 40% market share in the local pharmacist software solutions market and reported revenues of around EUR 1mn last year. It employs 30 and counts as clients more than 2,000 pharmacies and almost 1,500 doctors. Cegedim Romania had revenue of EUR 5.7mn in 2010. It has three business units: Cegedim Customer Information, Cegedim Relationship Management and Cegedim Strategic Data. |
