Bulgarias construction output down by 1.6% y/y in September, 0.3% y/y in Q3.

Construction output in Bulgaria shrank by 1.6% y/y in September, according to statistics office preliminary seasonally adjusted data. In the previous month, the output dropped at the same annual rate after the data were revised down from 0.4% drop according to the preliminary estimates. The average growth for the quarter turned negative (minus 0.3%) following a 1.5% rise in Q2. The output in September was pushed up by civil engineering works, which registered their ninth straight increase, rising by 4.5% y/y. Buildings construction output however fell by 6.3% y/y in September. In calendar adjusted terms, total construction output went down by 2.9% compared to September 2011.
