Bulgarian River Shipping starts new ferry line to Romania.

Local Bulgarian River Shipping Company (BRS) will be the Bulgarian operator of the new ferry line from the Bulgarian Danube port town of Nikopol to Romania s Turnu Magurele. The investment in the facility amounts at EUR 6.2mn. It is financed by the EU pre-accession programme PHARE. Also, BRS will operate the ferry line between Bulgaria s Vidin and Romania s Calafat on the Danube river in the next three years. BRS is owned by the countrys largest holding company Chimimport (75%). It is the main Danube river water transportation company in the country with 90% of the companys activities focused on transporting goods from Russia and Ukraine .
