Bulgaria to secure another 10% of natural gas consumption as of late-2013.

By bne IntelliNews November 15, 2012
Bulgaria will supply at least some 10% of its natural gas demand from a local source as of the second half of 2013 thus reducing its 100% dependency on Russian gas imports, energy minister Delyan Dobrev said, as quoted by investor.bg. Next year Direct Petroleum Bulgaria is expected to start producing natural gas at the Koynare gas deposit, after the company was awarded gas exploration permit for a period of 35 years. The gas will be purchased by Bulgargas at a price that will be 35% lower than the current import price. Direct Petroleum Bulgaria was acquired by Canada's TransAtlantic Petroleum in 2011.
