Serb Republics GDP rose for a second quarter in a row, increasing by 2% y/y in Q3 from 0.9% in Q1, the RS statistical office said in its first-ever GDP quarterly data report. The entitys economy had previously registering contractions for three consecutive quarters. Almost all main industrial sectors, with the exception of mining, utility and construction, registered an improvement. The construction sector reported a 12.3% y/y decline, falling for a fifth month in a row but almost two times lower than the fall in the previous quarter. We note that the IMF forecasts that Bosnias economy will grow by 0.5% y/y in 2010. The Muslim-Croat Federation, which together with the Serb Republic forms postwar Bosnia, has so far provided no quarterly GDP data for Q3.
