Bosnias mobile penetration rate climbs to 83% at end-2011 - survey.

Almost 83% of all Bosnian citizens use mobile telephony services, which is above the worlds average penetration rate of 80%, an analysis of daily Nezavisne Novine showed. It is estimated that mobile users totalled 3,174,604 at the end of 2011 in the country of 3.84 million people, the report said. For comparison, a total of 71% of the citizens in China use mobile telephony services. Nezavisne Novine said it has collected data from Bosnias three mobile operators for the purpose of the survey. BH Mobile said they had 1.2 million prepaid and some 160,000 postpaid subscribers at end-2011. M:tels end-December total mobile users were almost 1.38 million, while HT Euronet reported 156,424 postpaid and 275,542 postpaid subscribers in the final day of last year. According to information of the countrys regulator, RAK, the number of mobile users in Bosnia rose to 3,025,329 at end-June 2011 from 3,013,700 at end-2010.
