By bne IntelliNews January 23, 2012
The industrial production in Bosnia's Federation rose 2.5% last year after increasing 4.2% in 2010, the Federations statistics office said in a statement. December output, however, shrank 6.4% on the year, extending an annual 2.7% drop registered in November. Last years mining and quarrying output turned to a 12.3% growth after registering a 4.3% drop in 2010. Electricity, gas and water supply output rose 3.3% in 2011 after climbing 2.4% a year earlier. Production in the manufacturing industry remained flat after increasing 6.9% in 2010. The larger annual decrease in December compared to a month earlier reflects bigger drops in the output of capital goods and utilities. In addition, energy production plunged 12% in December, reversing Novembers nearly 8% expansion.
