Bosnias largest power producer government-controlled Elektroprivreda BiH, said it will put on stream the 215 MW unit 6 of the Tuzla thermal power plant on Thursday, Feb 21, following a BAM 125mn (EUR 64mn) revitalisation. Thanks to the revamp, financed by the companys own funds, the lifespan of the unit has been extended by 15 years and the dangerous gases emissions have been reduced, Elektroprivreda BiH said in a statement. The unit produces 1,100 GWh of electricity annually. At the ceremony for putting the unit back on stream, company executives will also present the 2012 financial results and business plans for 2013. The Tuzla plant has four units in operation (units 3, 4, 5 and 6), which have a combined installed capacity of 715 MW and produce some 3,100 GWh a year, consuming some 3.3 million tonnes of coal. Elektroprivreda BiH controls another thermal power plant as well Kakanj, which has three units of combined 450 MW and annual production of some 2,300 GWh. |
