Bosnia’s CPI inflation slows to 1% y/y in June

Consumer prices in Bosnia & Herzegovina increased 1% y/y in June, slowing from a 2.2% y/y growth in May, the country’s statistics office said on July 21. In m/m terms, the CPI moved down 0.5% in June, after rising 1% in May.

Consumer prices in the country declined 1.1% in 2016, according to statistics office data. In April, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast that the annual average CPI would reverse to inflation of 1.9% in 2017.

Transport costs increased the most y/y in June – by 4.9%, followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco (up 4.5%). On the other hand, clothing and footwear prices declined 6.3% y/y.

The CPI rose by 1.1% y/y in January-June.
